Come, Thief was the first volume of poetry I bought for myself, that made me enjoy it on its own merits and not merely read because intellectually I know that poetry is Important. It is full of regret, hope, confession, love, life. Hard to pick a favorite, but this one has to be close...<br /><br />My Daughter and Apple Pie<br />Raymond Carver<br /><br />She serves me a piece of it a few minutes<br />out of the oven.
