I'm having the best time reading a series that my daughter and her friends (they're all in high school) are reading: The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. It's like the best of the cop stories I already love with the fantasy of Harry Potter all grown up and fighting crime. I'm not sure I'm finding myself, particularly, but I am having a great time.
The other day I finished reading "When the Stars Fall to Earth," by Rebecca Tinsley. The author is amazingly gifted in weaving a story about the genocide in Darfur through the eyes of four survivors and a rescue worker from the UK.
The violence of genocide and war is difficult to read and I wanted to put the book down, however the hope and resiliency that emanated from the story and characters kept me reading.
What I found out about myself is that I believe in hope and admire those that work towards that idea.
A small book of poems by Joyce Sutphen. I've read it before (Coming Back to the Body), but as she is a fellow Minnesotan, and even a native of the county I grew up in, I see and hear so much familiar in her words that I can't help returning to the poems. LOVE READING.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this book. It would be a hard read for me I'm sure, but definitely inspiring. Hope you're well.
